Christine’s been hard at work in an effort to launch her new business, Knoxville Party Magic. She’s been moving away more and more from being a face painter and balloon twister toward becoming a professional children’s entertainer/magician.
Two weeks ago she spend a week at an international convention of children’s entertainers in Pigeon Forge, just 40 minutes from home, that attracted participants from around the world. In fact, two of her mentors (co-hosts of the Magician’s Business podcast) flew in from Australia and from the U.K. for the event.
She was especially excited to host our new international friends at our home for a couple of nights. What an opportunity to learn first hand from some of the best in the business! They were so appreciative of our hospitality that they surprised her by having her newly developed logo animated! Check it out (she picked the soundtrack):
Tonight I arrived home from a Knights of Columbus meeting to find her editing her music for an upcoming show this week at our church where she’ll be entertaining dozens of kids in Grades 1-5 of our religious education program. Yep, she was learning to use Audacity to trim down her show music to the proper length so it would play for just the right amount of time during the show. Wow! I’m really impressed at her drive to master all aspects of making this business a success.
I’ve been helping Christine with her website and while we still have plenty of work to do, I’m quite pleased with the progress we’ve made. I’ll be shooting photos and videos on Wednesday evening in an attempt to get some good “money shots” of the kids enjoying her show. We’re also planning on a developing a highly targeted Google Adwords campaign to increase her bookings, for which I have some studying to do with the assistance of our new international mentor friends. Yep, it’s going to be a team effort as our marriage has been right from its inception. Christine and I make a great team with our complimentary talents and our drive to be the best we can be.
I’m very proud of Christine for her drive to succeed in this new business. I’m confident that her hard work is going to pay off in spades as the word gets out that Ms. Tickle is the go-to entertainer for their kids parties. Together we’re determined to make this a successful business with her as the star of the show and me behind the scenes helping with the technical and communication end of things. It’s a sure formula for success!
