Rub My Head

Got you to click!  More about me:

First of all, I’m very happy to say that I’m not as big a bald guy as I was earlier this year. I’m proud to share that I’ve lost 55 pounds in about 6 months (thanks be to God!) and I’m still working on dropping another 10. It wasn’t easy, but I can’t tell you how good it feels to drop my waist size from a 44 to a 38 and be at my lowest weight in over 15 years.

Yeah, losing over 50 lbs. involved drinking a lot less beer (I love good beer) and watching my caloric intake very carefully, but it was well worth it. Now I walk between 3 – 4 miles 5 days a week and I’ve never felt better. If you’re contemplating losing weight, I’d heartily encourage you to go for it. Don’t be in a rush, just keep at it. A pound or two a week is plenty fast. Know that YOU CAN DO IT!

I’m a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Athens, TN and an Aspirant to the Permanent Diaconate in the Diocese of Knoxville, hoping to be called to Candidacy and in five years, to Ordination. Most of all, I’m is praying that God’s will be done in my life…as a Deacon or not. My wife, Christine, is writing about the journey in her blog, The Deacon’s Aspirant’s Wife.

I developed and manage St. Mary’s website and I’ve taught Theology of the Body to high school students with Christine. I’ve served on St. Mary’s pastoral council as communication co-chair and I’m a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

I’m also an avid technology buff who enjoys using the latest Internet applications to market products and services, discover and share information, and build community. I’ve produced podcasts, hosted and produced Internet video for our motorcycle lighting business, and I attend national conferences on podcasting, social media and blogging as often as time and budget allow.

I’ve been blessed with 4 wonderful children and 7 grandchildren. I have a passion for using digital media to create a “digital legacy” for future generations to better know and appreciate their ancestors. To that end, we keep an extensive on-line photo library of family and personal events, dozens of YouTube videos, an active Facebook account and a few personal blogs. I’m a fan, supporter and friend of SQPN, a Catholic network of podcasters and evangelists taking the lead in Catholic new media.
